WARNING: Middletown’s new superintendent, Elgin Card, is the same one who forced Lakota staff to read hardcore woke DEI books.
While at Lakota (LODI department), Elgin Card required teachers and leaders to study: • Cultural Proficiency: A Manual for Leaders • Culturally Proficient Leadership • Culturally Proficient Learning Communities: Confronting Inequities Through Collaborative Curiosity After personally being given these books by Elgin, in summary, these books don’t teach better academics. They teach Critical Race Theory-style ideology: • America’s systems are “systemically racist” • Color-blind fairness is oppressive • Teachers must constantly confess their “implicit bias” and “privilege” • The goal is equity (engineered equal outcomes by race/identity), not excellence • Everything is viewed through the lens of systemic racism, power, and privilege. • Staff are trained to view every school policy through the lens of oppression and power This is not neutral professional development — it’s full-blown woke indoctrination disguised as “leadership training.” Parents in Middletown: Your kids’ new superintendent already proved exactly what he believed in when he was at Lakota.
